Minimum Requirements for Virtual Reality Laptop Rentals

0

Virtual reality, or VR, is an experiment increasingly used by industries. Event planners have already added RV and augmented reality equipment to their arsenals, and companies like Volvo, Marriott, Merrel and even McDonald’s have all tested the waters of VR technology. However, before you can incorporate virtual reality into your next event, you will need a device that the headsets can take advantage of.

Laptop rentals are an almost perfect way for event planners to use RV experiences because of their extreme portability and ease of use. their ease of installation. I say “almost perfect” because not all laptops are capable of running virtual reality. There are certain minimum specifications that your laptop will need to have so that you can use it for VR experiments. For example, here is a list of the minimum specifications required to use an Oculus Rift:

• Windows 7 SP1 or higher

• 2 USB 3.0 ports

• An HDMI 1.3 port

• 8 GB of RAM or more

• Intel Core i5 processor 4590 or higher

• GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 290 or better

You probably noticed that I had indicated “Windows 7 SP1 or newer” as the requirement. The Oculus Rift currently does not support Mac OS and the HTC Vive either. So, if you are an avid fan of Apple who wants to use virtual reality, you are going to have to make a temporary sacrifice. It should be noted that HTC Vive’s minimum specifications are a little less intense however, and here is a list of these:

• Windows 7 SP1 or higher

• 1 USB 2.0 port or faster

• An HDMI 1.4 port

• DisplayPort 1.2 or higher

• 4 GB of RAM or more

• Intel Core i5 4590 processor or AMD FX 8350 or higher

• GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 290 or better

Many of the minimum specifications required for the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive are the same, but there are several differences between the two headsets. The two differences that are the easiest to spot are the HTC Vive which only needs a USB port (at least 2.0) and that requires 4 gigabytes less RAM compared to the average one. Oculus Rift. It should also be noted that AMD processors are much more capable of working alongside the HTC Vive, and are much less risky to use with this virtual reality device.

While AMD processors can work in conjunction with the Oculus Rift, you’ll get much better performance using an Intel processor with this specific headset. Keep these specifications in mind if you want to build a VR compatible gaming PC, or if you need compatible VR laptop rental for your next event. It’s always important to know what you’re working with.
