Apple’s macOS operating system is obviously not the most widely used platform in the world, but in In terms of the number of computers sold, it seems like Apple is actually doing pretty well for themselves. This is according to the latest figures by IDC and Gartner in which he revealed that Apple had managed to sell 20 million Mac computers in 2017.
What that mean, it’s that Apple is the fourth in the world in terms of the number of computers sold. On this basis, Apple would have ordered approximately 7.6% of the total number of computers delivered in 2017, placing them behind HP (22.7%), Lenovo (21.1%) and Dell (16.1%)
. Acer and ASUS are below Apple, although certainly not much at 6.8% and 6.6% respectively. However, in terms of growth, Apple has grown 5.9% over the previous year, which is actually the second largest among the top six, with HP having the fastest growth in 8.2%
Apple launches the iMac Pro which is the iMac designed for business users. Apple should also launch an updated Mac Pro as well this year, if rumors are to be believed, then maybe these numbers could rise as well.
